Announcing Discount, Keynote, and Speakers for SharePoint 2010 @ The Experts Conference 2010 – By Joel Oleson

Designed to be one of the deepest conferences focused almost exclusively on IT and Architecture is The Experts Conference. TEC is recognized as the premier event to really focus on depth. As well, by design, this SharePoint conference is nearly 100% focused on SharePoint 2010, but as well includes real world case study type information on SharePoint 2007 scale deployments. I’ve personally been tasked with bringing together some of the best experts on SharePoint and I’m pleased to announce much of the lineup of top notch speakers, real industry experts in their field.

There are 2 SharePoint tracks across 3 days plus optional pre-conference workshops and I’m driving to push the event even more. Don’t worry about the host, you won’t see any Quest product demos or Quest sales presentations in any of the sessions. Go to the SharePoint demo cafe or Vendor Hall for that. I’m personally making sure of that. This is an industry conference and really designed to train you and give you the knowledge and depth you haven’t been unable to find elsewhere. On top of that, it’s really the networking that you’ll also find with lots of opportunities to spend time with *real* experts and just plain cool people who like to share what they’ve learned.

Sure you’ll see this conference also has some AD and Exchange stuff, but it’s the SharePoint conference at TEC… that’s what I’m talking about.

Keynote Speakers

Bill Baer – Bill is known as one of the foremost at Microsoft as the “Real World” SharePoint Architect. He has years of experience in support, operations, and engineering including his background at HP, Compaq and DEC. He’s worked as Lead Architect on SharePoint Online as well as the key engineer on the internal Microsoft Intranet deployments. His blog on TechNet was a key resource on the 2007 upgrade. As a SharePoint MCM (Microsoft Certified Master) instructor he not only has he been able to share his knowledge, but help design the program that helps SharePoint IT Architects stand apart from the crowd. Bill recently took a role on the SharePoint Technical Product Management Team to own the IT Pro audience. Bill will be providing information on the evolution of the SharePoint platform.

Mike Watson – Mike’s career at Microsoft started on the Microsoft IT team. With focus on operational efficiency, scale, and disaster recovery he has used his skills on the global deployments at Microsoft, the first employee of the SharePoint online team as key engineer, and leading the SharePoint tools effort for the Premier Field Engineering known as RAP. As a leading expert in the Industry, he often speaks at Tech Ed, SharePoint Conferences, SharePoint Best Practices events, SharePoint Saturdays and SharePoint user groups. He also shares his thoughts on his popular SharePoint Mad Scientist blog. He currently works at Quest software as a Sr. Product Manager for Deployment Advisor, a new unreleased product designed to manage SharePoint 2010 farms. Mike will be referee to one of the great battles of the decade on IT vs. Dev comparing the differences in SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010.

Michael Noel – Michael Noel has not only been working with SharePoint since before the first release, he has been a SharePoint MVP, and prominent author of SharePoint Unleashed. (My favorite book on SharePoint 2007 Administration- Joel.) He has authored over 18 books and is currently working on a SharePoint 2010 book. Michael works for CCO in the Bay area and does SharePoint Architecture and Consulting, and a bunch more like ISA and Exchange. His whitepapers on virtualization and SharePoint have become the defacto standard on TechNet. Michael speaks globally on SharePoint at Tech-Ed, SharePoint Connections, SharePoint Saturday, and SharePoint User groups. Michael’s Keynote will dive into virtualization with SharePoint 2010.

Joel Oleson – Yep, I’ll be speaking at the conference as well. I’ll be introducing these experts on the first two days and sharing prescriptive guidance on SharePoint 2010 Upgrade.
