Mon 5/11-Fri 5/15 Daytime BOF sessions (Room 501A)

Thu 5/14 5:15-5:30 p.m. BOF Host Orientation for those hosting Thu evening sessions (Room 507) 5:45-6:45 p.m. BOF Reception (Room 507) 6:45-9:00 p.m. BOF Sessions

Host Check-In

Each host must check-in at one of the following times

  • Daytime BOF Room (501A) 30-min prior to the start of the session for daytime session hosts
  • BOF Orientation, 5:15 p.m. prior to the BOF Reception (Room 507) for BOF evening session hosts
BOF Reception (Required*)

Thu 5/14, 5:45-6:45 p.m.

(Please wear your BOF t-shirt!)

On Thursday evening just prior to the start of BOF Night there will be a reception for all hosts, moderators, volunteers, sponsors, and invited guests. Food, drink, and more!

*All BOF hosts are required to attend. There will be ample time to get to your BOF Night session as a host. This room will also serve as a "Green Room" for hosts and moderators after the reception until 9:00 p.m.

BOF Evening Event

Thu 5/14 6:45-9:00 p.m. featuring sixteen (16) total BOF sessions in two time slots (6:45 and 8:00 p.m.) as part of the "Jam On IT" evening.

How to Host A Session

Dress Wear the BOF t-shirt when hosting a BOF session (You may wear it over another shirt).

Working with the Moderator There will be a moderator to lead the discussion in each BOF session. The moderator will arrive approximately 10-15 min prior to the start of the session.

What you need to do at each session:

1) Thank our sponsors

  • Microsoft
  • Culminis & INETA
  • Samsung
  • O'Reilly
  • Pearson

2) Promote the BOF Evening Event, Thu 5/14, 6:45-9:00 p.m. (Daytime sessions only :-> ) Food, beverages, and 16 great BOF sessions

3) Mention the Culminis and INETA booths, and to check out local user groups

4) Provide these Instructions for the Audience

  • A BOF session is an open community discussion: everyone should participate, share you thoughts.
  • Sit in the front so we can talk to and hear one another.
  • If you can’t hear, just say so! Ask people to speak into the mic or to speak up. Or move in closer.
  • Since this is a discussion, please refrain from lecturing or selling something.
  • Enjoy!

5) Starting the Session

  • Know the title of the session and the moderator's name :-)
  • Introduce the moderator and than them for volunteering to moderate the session.
